UPDATE 10-1-’24: Pieter Pot is bankrupt, but theuy are investgating if they can restart the company with the new capital. Investing is still possible!
Pieter Pot is an initiative that we should have more of. They are a supermarket that can help you create less waste. How? Quite simple: All products you order from Pieter Pot either have no packaging or come in a container (glass jar) that is taken back, cleaned, and refilled. We’ve been ordering from Pieter Pot for quite some time, and it saves our family a lot of packaging every week, such as for pasta, nuts, muesli, peanut butter, and chocolate sprinkles. Additionally, they collaborate with local partners, supporting more sustainable agriculture.
Unfortunately, Pieter Pot is currently facing some challenges because they have grown, and people are returning to do their groceries in the store agian after the COVID-19 crisis. It seems that environmental concerns have become less of a priority for some. At the moment, Pieter Pot is trying to secure enough funds through crowdfunding to continue their operations. Let’s hope they succeed, and this initiative continues to exist, allowing us to generate less waste and raise awareness among others!
If you also want to become a co-owner, here is the crowdfunding page: Pieter Pot Share Funding. If they don’t raise enough money, you will get it back, and otherwise, you become a co-owner of a fantastic initiative for a minimum of €150!
